Volunteer Coordinator
Professional Graduation Exhibition
Served as a volunteer across the full lifecycle of my department’s professional graduation exhibition, from early curatorial planning through to opening day operations. The role required an uncommon balance of creative thinking and operational precision — translating artistic vision into spatial reality while maintaining rigorous budget control and coordinating a multi-person team under real production conditions.
- Pre-production Curation — Established the exhibition’s thematic direction and spatial narrative logic. Coordinated individual presentation strategies for participating works, ensuring visual and conceptual consistency across the full exhibition floor.
- Cost Control & Budget Management — Built and maintained detailed cost-tracking spreadsheets to monitor expenditure across all project phases. Systematically categorised costs and identified potential overruns early, helping the team execute within budget without compromising quality.
- Exhibition Build & Spatial Installation — Participated in the physical installation of the venue, translating the curatorial plan into an immersive three-dimensional experience. Coordinated display arrangements with careful attention to visitor circulation and the aesthetic presentation of each work.
- Opening Day Operations — Served as on-site coordinator on the exhibition’s opening day, managing personnel deployment, synchronising cross-team workflows, and responding swiftly to real-time contingencies. Ensured smooth visitor flow and seamless operations from doors open through close.
